I love being a massage therapist. I also love learning, teaching, and helping others achieve their goals. That is why I am here.
After I passed the NCETMB in 2001, I opened my practice in my hometown inside my dad’s chiropractic clinic. Recently, I decided to move my office into a vintage camper I am remodeling. True story.
I am currently a licensed massage therapist in Iowa (02648) and Florida (MA66325).
In 2006, I started Advanced Massage Techniques, an online continuing education resource for massage professionals.
Advanced Massage Techniques is actually where Massage Exam Academy was born. You can read more about why I created it and took the MBLEx myself here.
I enjoy helping people struggling with their exam preparation, and those that need last minute reassurance before exam day.
I also get a ridiculous amount of joy from the emails I receive after someone passes the MBLEx. They are typically in all caps and have an abnormal amount of exclamation points. I understand their excitement because I have been there, twice. I know they are one step closer to their dream/goal of being a licensed massage therapist.
These emails and phone calls motivate me to make Massage Exam Academy even better.
Working online allows me spend a majority of my time at home with two daughters and husband. My other interests include barefoot massage, homeschooling, adoption, and pinning things on Pinterest with the sincere intention of doing them some day.
